Spokesmen for Auburn star running back Bo Jackson and the Birmingham Stallions of the U.S. Football League refused comment on a published report that he has agreed to play for the team.

The Stallions, have reportedly offered Jackson a $1 million bonus, and a $1 million dollar salary to play for the team for the remainder of the USFL season.

Jerry Sklar, team president and spokesman for the team, said in a telephone interview refused to comment on a story published Friday in The Tuscaloosa News.

Sklar said in a telephone interview he doesn't respond to the kind of unidentified sources quoted in article. “We just don't operate that way,” he said.

The News quoted an unidentified source as saying: “Basically, the deal is done except for dotting some I's and crossing a few T’s.”

Jackson’s baseball rights are owned by the Kansas City Royals. Jackson was also kicked off the Auburn baseball team for flying to Tampa to take a physical for the Buccaneers.

The Stallions host Herschel Walker and the New Jersey Generals on Sunday.
