Event Date: March 29th, 1986

Event Description: Belue Leads Bulls

Buck Belue, again filling in for an injured Ed Luther, threw two touchdowns, including a 17-yarder to Alton Alexis late in the fourth quarter Friday night, lifting the Bulls to a 30-27 victory over the Baltimore Stars, who suffered their fourth defeat in six contests.

Belue also connected on a 24-yard scoring pass to Frank Lockett that highlighted the Bulls’ third win of the season.

The Stars’ Chuck Fusina used his veteran receivers to rip the Bulls' secondary for three touchdown passes, but he also suffered three sacks on 23-of-37 efficiency for 254 yards passing.

Fusina's final touchdown pass of the night, a 13-yard effort to Clarence Collins, gave Baltimore a 24-19 late in the third quarter, but only served to set the stage for Belue, who three weeks ago led the Bulls to a 35-31 win at New Orleans.

In other Friday night action, the (5-1) Michigan Panthers continued their winning ways by edging the winless Invaders by a score of 23-22.

Backup Mike Hohensee tossed the winning touchdown to Eric Truvillion with 4:31 left in the contest. Hohensee replaced an injured Bob Gagliano in the third quarter and finished with 101 passing yards and a pair of touchdowns.
