The Arizona Outlaws announced Wednesday that quarterback Alan Risher and wide receiver Wilford Morgan have cleared USFL waivers and have become free agents.
Risher placed himself on waivers on Tuesday rather than accept a demotion to the Outlaws' developmental squad.
Tom Porras, a third-string quarterback with the Outlaws last year, is expected to replace Risher as the Outlaws' No. 3 quarterback, but he had not signed as of late Wednesday.
Morgan is a second-year player from Bethune Cookman. He spent the first two games on the Outlaws' developmental squad.
Meanwhile, team officials have announced two players have been brought in for three-day tryouts. They are linebacker Dave Simmons, a four-year NFL veteran who was cut by the Philadelphia Stars, and defensive end Steve Ballard, who played in seven games for the Outlaws last season.
