The Philadelphia Stars Wednesday signed former Penn State and NFL running back Lydell Mitchell to a contract to play with the U.S. Football League team.
“It's a challenge but I know I can still play and the USFL is offering me a chance,” said Mitchell, 33, who was cut by the Los Angeles Rams in 1981 after an eight-year NFL career.
