While allowing Gary Hogeboom, their second-string quarterback, to shop around for a possible trade, the Dallas Cowboys have requested and been granted permission to talk to Reggie Collier, quarterback of the United States Football League's Orlando Renegades.
Collier, drafted in the sixth round by Dallas in 1983 out of Southern Mississippi, signed instead with the Birmingham Stallions but was later traded to the Washington Federals, who moved to Orlando.
He has a one-year option remaining on his Renegade contract for about $250,000. Meanwhile, Hogeboom, who asked to be traded last season after serving as backup to Danny White, still hasn't come up with a nibble from the 14 teams his agent has contacted thus far.
