Cornerbacks
Lewis Billup, North Alabama, 5-10 , 178. Level of competition is questionable, but has major-league talent. Aggressive. Must concentrate more.
Mark Collins, Fullerton State, 5-9 , 189. Competition wasn't great, but was filled with passing. Displayed fine man-to-man technique. Tough.
Patrick Hunter, Nevada-Reno, 5-10 , 176. Div. II standout needs to prove self against the big boys. Hard hitter but a bit slow.
Vestee Jackson, Washington, 5-11, 198. Strong and fast with solid reactions. Likes to bump receivers. Constantly plays near ball and a great leaper. Might be better as NFL safety.
Roderick Jones, Southern Methodist, 5-11 , 165. Track star, whose speed covers a lot of faults. Leaves much to be desired as tackler and needs bulk.
Tim McKyer, Texas-Arlington, 5-11 , 175. Standout kick returner. Smooth and will lay into a receiver. Has problems against run, mostly because of his size.
Devon Mitchell, Iowa, 6-1, 194. Fast enough for CB, future may be at S. Good instincts and desire, poor tackler.
Errol Tucker, Utah, 5-7 , 170. A dynamic return man, whose special teams talents aid his chances. Led nation in kickoff and punt returns, scoring 4 TDs. Makes up ground on passes well. Future is likely as returner-nickel back.
Kevin Wyatt, Arkansas, 5-9 , 188. Special teams star. Quick, but needs to develop cover skills.
Safeties
Domingo Bryant, Texas A&M, 6-3, 182. Must add muscle to thin upper body. Aggressive, but not quick. Improved as senior season went along.
Brad Cochran, Michigan, 6-3, 208. Lack of burning speed necessitates switch from CB to S. Big, solid, intense and hard hitter.
Allan Durden, Arizona, 5-11, 171. Uses skills as a former WR to his advantage. Physical numbers are unimpressive, but combines smarts, desire and discipline into impressive on-field results.
David Fulcher, Arizona State, 6-3, 230. Declared eligible for draft late. A strong safety and perhaps OLB.
Glenn Vincie, Indiana State, 6-0, 179. Rolls together good speed with tenacious hits. FS with strong cover skills. Will come up and play run. Stellar Senior Bowl helped stock after unimpressive senior season.
Greg Lasker, Arkansas, 6-0 , 200. College CB, will probably switch to S because of good run force abilities. Four-year starter. Hits. Makes mistakes when ball is in air.
Craig Swoope, Illinois, 6-0 , 200. Good anticipation. Likes to hit. Much better against run than pass. Was acquitted of cocaine charges in 1984, but you know NFL will be leery.
Mike Turner, Northeast Louisiana, 6-1 , 206. Speed is problem, though he is faster on a field than on a time track. Good anticipation. Sticks his nose in.
