'85 Chronology-Bandit Blowout!

John Reaves tossed three touchdown passes to lift the Tampa Bay Bandits to a 36-8 win over the Orlando Renegades as the USFL opened its third spring season on saturday night.

Reaves connected on 22-of-33 passes for 337 yards with no interceptions and a pair of sacks. Gary Anderson led the way with 51 yards rushing to go along with 55 yards through the air on eight receptions.

Wideout Eric Truvillion led all receivers with 96 yards on three receptions, including a 15-yard touchdown reception in the third quarter. Tight end Marvin Harvey also hauled in a pair of touchdown receptions as the Bandits cruised to the win.

Game Notes: Ex-Tampa Bay Bucs quarterback Jerry Golsteyn got the start for Orlando but was generally ineffective as he finished with 142 yards passing on 15-of-36 attempts…Curtis Bledsoe led the Orlando ground attack as he finished with 106 yards on 18 totes…Jeff George finished with a pair of interceptions and nine tackles for the Bandits.
