Former Mississippi quarterback John Fourcade, the all-time total offense leader for the Rebels, signed a two year contract Thursday with the U.S. Football League Memphis Showboats.

Fourcade played for the British Columbia Lions of the Canadian Football League and joined the Birmingham Stallions when the USFL was founded.

Fourcade played little with Birmingham and was released earlier this year.

Showboats coach Pepper Rodgers said Fourcade would likely be in uniform as the third quarterback.
