'88 Chronology-Week #10 Roundup

Event Description: Week #10 Roundup


Doug Flutie passed for a touchdown and Sam Bowers hauled in nine receptions for 164 yards to lead the New Jersey Generals to a 30-27 victory over the hapless Oakland Invaders. 

Flutie tossed a 34-yard scoring pass to Bowers to open  the second quarter after Oakland had opened a 10-0 lead after the opening frame.

Oakland then moved out to a 20-6 lead after Vince Williams scored via a one-yard run and Novo Bojovic added a 36-yard field goal.

A Doug Flutie one-yard touchdown run at the end of the first half brought the Generals to within 20-12 at the intermission.

A pair of Vaughn Broadnax touhdown runs in the third quarter pushed New Jersey ahead by a score of 27-20 as New Jersey took control in the second-half.

In other Week #10 action; Birmingham upset Jacksonville 34-17 on Thursday, meanwhile Tampa Bay, Memphis and Orlando notched victories over the weekend.
