Former University of Wisconsin safety David Greenwood will be given a workout by the Green Bay Packers, Coach Forrest Gregg said Wednesday.

"When he came out of college we really were high on him because he was a tough, aggressive football player," Gregg said.

"So, we're going to take a look at him."

Greenwood, 26, a native of Park Falls, Wis., was waived before the start of the season by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The 6-foot-3, 210-pound player signed with the Michigan Panthers of the USFL after completing his career at Wisconsin in 1982.

He played three seasons in the USFL, winning all-league honors, before signing with the Buccaneers in 1985. Greenwood led Tampa Bay with five interceptions last season.
