Event Description: Klingler fitting in with Gamblers
Source: Houston Star
A sore shoulder has been a bit of a nuisance, but otherwise David Klingler's U.S. Football League debut has gone even better than expected.
Despite missing two of Houston's eight games to date because of the bad shoulder has generally made a favorable impression on coaches with a relentless approach to the game, the rookie quarterback leads the Gamblers with 1245 yards and eleven touchdown passes.
"I've still had a few welcome to pro football moments," smiled Klingler, "but I'm adapting well, I think. Those Offensive linemen are pretty strong and have given me time to operate the offense. I got punched once while being sacked and got knocked over backwards, but overall the line has played great. But it's still somewhat of a shock coming into the pro ranks and having to learn a new offense."
