"We took too many penalties," said Bulls head coach John Hadl, who watched his side get eight flags thrown against them, "but we found a way to win a football game on the road. It was a good team effort. It was a tough battle today, as we knew it would be."

Chuck Fusina finished with 242 yards on 23 of 30 passes with two touchdowns while also tossing an interception. Victor Harrison finished with 67 yards on five receptions with one score for Baltimore, which has dropped three of their last four contests

A 22-yard field goal by Baltimore's David Trout at the 10:13 mark of the second stanza pulled the Stars to within seven at 10-3.

The Bulls regained their ten point lead late in the first half when Steve Slayden, subbing for an injured Ramsey, connected with Melvin Bratton for a two-yard score.

"I felt good about getting in to play but as far as some of the things I did out there today, there's probably one or two throws that I definitely wish I could take back," said Slayden. "But all in all, it felt good to get into a game and get my feet wet again.”

Baltimore responded with another field goal at the 0:35 mark, as Trout connected on his second field goal try, this one going through the uprights from 42 yards. The teams headed into half time with the Bulls leading 17-6.

Partway through the third frame Baltimore cut into the Jacksonville lead when Stars’ pivot Chuck Fusina led the offense on a 59-yard drive culminating with a 15-yard touchdown pass to Naz Worthen.

Jacksonville went back up by eleven points when Ramsey found Kirby Warren on a 10-yard touchdown pass with 6:26 remaining in the third quarter of play.
