Here is the third installment of the power rankings for the U.S. Football League;

(#1) Birmingham Stallions

Record: 3-0

Last week’s ranking: #1

This week: vs. New Jersey Generals, Saturday 8 p.m.

After winning a big game against Memphis last week, the Stallions need to avoid a let down this week against New Jersey.

(#2) Pittsburgh Maulers

Record: 3-0

Last week’s ranking: #3

This week: at Los Angeles Express, Sunday 4 p.m.

So far the Maulers are this years’ feel good story.

(#3) Memphis Showboats

Record: 2-1

Last week’s ranking: #4

This week: at Baltimore Stars, Sunday 1 p.m.

If Reggie Collier continues to play well, then the Andy Kelly era may just have to wait a little longer.

(#4) Baltimore Stars

Record: 1-2

Last week’s ranking: #2

This week: vs. New Orleans Breakers, Sunday 1 p.m.

Last weeks’ 30-14 loss in Pittsburgh could be a signal for a changing of the guard in the East division.

(#5) Oakland Invaders

Record: 1-2

Last week’s ranking: #7

This week: at Houston Gamblers, Sunday 4 p.m.

The Invaders suffered a tough loss last week against the Blitz, but many pundits still believe that they are the most improved team in their division.

(#6) New Jersey Generals

Record: 2-1

Last week’s ranking: #9

This week: at Birmingham Stallions, Saturday 8 p.m.

A blow-out win last week over Michigan seems to have righted the ship after a touch opening season loss.

(#7) New Orleans Breakers

Record: 2-1

Last week’s ranking: #5

This week: at Baltimore Stars, Sunday 1 p.m.

In last weeks’ win over Tampa, John Fourcade was effective behind center and Sammy Martin was stellar on special teams.

(#8) Chicago Blitz

Record: 2-1

Last week’s ranking: #8

This week: vs. Arizona Wranglers, Monday 8 p.m.

Rookie runner Mike Saunders has made a huge impact so far as he leads the entire league in rushing yardage.

(#9) Los Angeles Express

Record: 1-2

Last week’s ranking: #12

This week: vs. Pittsburgh Maulers, Sunday 4 p.m.

A slow start combined with tepid fan support may not bode well for the Express.

(#10) Jacksonville Bulls

Record: 2-1

Last week’s ranking: #11

This week: vs. Memphis Showboats, Sunday 8 p.m.

The Bulls head into a prime time divisional matchup against Memphis feeling collected and confident.

(#11) Houston Gamblers

Record: 1-2

Last week’s ranking: #6

This week: vs. Oakland Invaders, Sunday 4 p.m.

A skittish start to the season for the men from the Lone Star state.

(#12) Arizona Wranglers

Record: 1-2

Last week’s ranking: #10

This week: at Chicago Blitz, Monday 8 p.m.

The Wranglers suddenly look old and slow.

(#13) Tampa Bay Bandits

Record: 0-3

Last week’s ranking: #14

This week: at Michigan Panthers, Sunday 1 p.m.

A tough three-point loss last week against New Orleans makes this a must-win game against Michigan.

(#14) Michigan Panthers

Record: 0-3

Last week’s ranking: #13

This week: vs. Tampa Bay Bandits, Sunday 1 p.m.

Michigan continues to struggle both on the field and at the box office.
